We're now at Muswellbrook having a few days with Adam. It poured rain when we arrived on Friday night, but the weekend weather has been beautiful. The boys have made us very welcome. Adam took us out to the mine yesterday to see where he works and we had a roast dinner cooked by one of the boys last night. I have been out early this morning watching the racehorses training on the racetrack which is opposite the house. The neighbours get up about 4am with their horses. It is very cold at that time of the morning!

Sydney was great - we went to wellknown places like Botany Bay, Bondi Beach, a walk out to south head, Rose Bay, the botanical gardens, and drove over the Harbour Bridge. We also went to the Maritime Museum, where we saw Jessica Watson's yacht, the Power House Musem and Paddys Markets. A busy couple of days!

We are leaving tomorrow, Tuesday, to go back to the coast and head north towards Brisbane.

We have arrived in Sydney today after a great couple of days driving up and down very steep roads on huge mountains. The descent down Clyde Mountain and the climb up the Bulli Pass were something else. The scenery is very beautiful along the coast from Batemans Bay through to Sydney. We stayed overnight with friends of friends on a farm at Milton, north of Ulladulla. It was nice to be welcomed and fed by people who we'd never met before.

Today we looked at the Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum at Nowra which was very impressive. We are staying at a caravan park at Sutherland, in a southern suburb of Sydney. It has been pouring with rain. We will probably get the train in to the city to look around tomorrow. EF

We have spent a few day in Canberra looking at the sights. The war museum was probably a highlight. You need at least a full day to see all that. Today we did the old and new parliament buildings.Erica had a look at the art galleries. By that time I was galleried out and had a camp in the ute.
Tomorrow we are heading down the Kings Highway to Batemans Bay and then north towards Sydney.

In Melbourne

We drove from the farm in Holbrook to Melbourne yesterday. We worked at the farm for 5 or 6 days repairing some damage to tanks and creek banks from wombats. We caught up with some friends in Wagga as well. We also replaced the GPS which has decided SA doesn't exist.
We are now at Rosebud down on the Mornington Peninsula where we are spending some time with the Outlaws.
Tomorrow we take the ute over to Broadmeadows where at last we will get the canopy fitted later in the week. Also while there we are getting some upgrades done to the F350 to give it a few more horsepower. Another 210 which will bump it up to 560 horsepower which should help level out the hills and give better fuel economy. RF

Kerang to Holbook

We left Kerang yesterday and came through to the Holbrook farm in NSW passing through Echuca, where we looked at the paddle steamers; Shepparton, a large fruit growing area; Benalla, renowned for its rose gardens and trees, and Albury/Wodonga, twin cities, one in Victoria, the other in New South Wales, separated by the Murray River. We are spending the rest of the week here helping out on the farm which is stocked with cattle, wombats, kangaroos and rabbits. EF
