Well, after nearly 22500kms, we're back home in Perth! We have been away for 4 months and had a wonderful time. On the final stretch down from Port Hedland to Perth, we passed an endless stream of trucks on the road, some with up to 4 trailers, with all sorts of loads: mining equipment, iron ore, houses, machines, vehicles, cattle etc. It certainly looks like the WA mining industry is thriving. It was raining on the last day which is great for the farmers who need follow up rains for their crops.
We really enjoyed every place we saw. Australia has so much varied scenery and it is all beautiful, just in different ways. There are still places we were unable to get to on this trip, so I hope we'll be able to go to them on another big trip some time in the near future. EF

We had a great time in Broome with Nicole and Andrew, Caitlin and Daniel who flew up to spend the week with us. We went out to Malcolm Douglas's wildlife park to see, amongst other animals, lots of crocodiles being fed. We had a camel ride on Cable Beach, went fishing at the port, checked out Chinatown and a water playground for the kids, not to mention taking the F350 up the beach and making sandcastles etc.
Since then we have driven down the coast to Port Hedland, spent some time at Karijini National Park, where they have amazing gorges, rock pools and waterfalls, and we're taking the Great Northern Highway back to Perth via Newman, Meekatharra and Mt. Magnet. EF

We are in Derby for 2 days after travelling across from Kununurra through Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing, which included a walk out at Geikie Gorge. We had an amazing 5 days at Kununurra, staying at the place of people we met at the Whitsundays. They have a property right on the Ord River, so we had a great location and also made some new friends.
While at Kununurra we made a day trip to Wyndham via the old Darwin road. We had a wonderful day checking out the Ord River along with crocs, Parrys Creek farm and Parrys lagoon on the way. The lagoon was alive with hundreds of birds and water lillies. Then, in Wyndham, we went up to the lookout where 5 rivers meet and then out to the Wyndham Port, a second town of Wyndham with mainly old buildings and lots of history. EF
